this is me.
I strive to create one-of-a-kind pieces that are as meaningful and powerful as the trees from which they came. Imperfections that occur naturally in the woods I use are what give it character. I focus on and incorporate those flaws in the piece, rather than try to hide them.
Most of the wood I work with is salvaged from trees that have been taken down around my neighborhood in NW Portland, Oregon. I turn on a Powermatic 3520C lathe in the small garage behind my home which I have converted into a shop.
Woodturning has helped me stay on the path of being more aware of myself and how I’m feeling. And made me more in touch with who I am.
