Spalted maple, turned while still wet with the pith left in on purpose. The grain was oriented so the spalted figure mirrors across the piece: bisect it down the center and one half reflects the other. The rim is subtly textured and lightly ebonized, and the interior is painted throughout in metallic bronze.

Leaving the pith in is what allowed the wood to move as it dried, warping the form and opening a few small cracks at the center. They're minor, and the spalting largely folds them into its pattern. That's just wood being wood and doing what wood does.

Dimensions (approx.):
Ø: 6 to 6.5" (15.2 to 16.5 cm)
H: 5" (12.7 cm)

Domestic shipping is included.
